About Me & about the classroom
About Mrs. Beck,
I have a wonderful family of four, my husband Jon, our two daughters, Emily & Claire, and Chester, our dog. We have lived in the Eastwood neighborhood since 1990. I was a co-op mom for nine years with my girls here at Eastwood! I have a BS in Business from Westminster and a Masters of Education from the U of U. Yes I am entirely Red-a Ute fan. Before coming to Eastwood to teach, I was in SLC School District experiencing Title 1 schools. My spare time is spent cooking, gardening, and reading. Some of my favorite things to read are mostly novels and current topics in education. I feel it is my job to transfer my love of learning to my students. We work on developing 21st century skills in our classroom which are; doing research, learning how to act in group discussions and creating presentations using current technology. 3rd graders can do it, and they really love it. I want my students to be ready for their wonderful futures! |
